Soka University of America

Soka University of America uses ARCHIBUS/FM and Autodesk MapGuide together with an ARCHIBUS/FM third-party developer interface to maintain facility and infrastructure data across its 700,000 square foot campus. Users can query a site map and view any floor of any building along with site-related assets for a snapshot of on-demand work across the campus. By summarizing the status of work and thematically mapping the campus on-line, Soka can better plan resources and reduce the costs associated with the overall administration of maintenance tasks. Currently, Soka is developing an inventory of site-based assets such as gas metering, gas mains, gas building feeds, domestic water assets such as valves and hydrants as well as complete lighting layouts. Universal access to such information enhances maintenance planning and speeds task completion, keeping the campus safe for its students, faculty, and staff.
